The Elstob font for medievalists comes in several flavors:

1. The variable fonts in the "variable" folder. Those with the .ttf extension can be
installed on a computer running any modern operating system, though many applications
are unable to recognize them as variable fonts. Those with the .woff2 extension are
   for web use only.

2. The static fonts in the "otf" and "ttf" folders. These are mainly for web use: use
them as fallbacks for obsolete browsers--those unable to handle variable fonts. It
may be advisable to compress these into woff, woff2, and/or EOT format before using
   them online.

3. The static fonts in the "desktop" folder. These have the family name "ElstobD" so
that they can be installed alongside the variable fonts. These will work well in all
desktop applications, though some applications will be unable to access all of their
   OpenType features.
